What is Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART)?

1. It includes all the treatments of infertility wherein both the egg and sperm are retrieved from the body surgically.

Fertility Awareness Month

It’s the end of June and the month that passed by is Fertility Awareness Month. In a small way, we started to educate people about Infertility in a series of blog articles.  We also launched our Infertility Medical Second Opinion service this month.  Many people have low level of awareness about managing their Fertility.  Getting access to good medical advice is also not easy in this space. We are hoping that our Ob/Gyn & Infertility online second medical opinion service will be a small step towards providing access to expert fertility care.

What are the Causes of Infertility in Women (Female Infertility)

Infertility can occur occur if there are any problems in the normal reproduction process. The process involves 4 steps.

•    The woman ovulates and releases an egg from her ovaries to travel through the fallopian tube to her uterus
•    The male produces sperm
•    Both egg and sperm normally meet in the woman’s fallopian tube, where fertilization occurs
•    The embryo then implants in the uterus for further development.
