Moisturisers do more than increase moisture; they also boost the protective ability of the skin, help in firming the skin and prevent wrinkling. Glycerin has been used for a long time as an excellent moisturiser but can leave a greasy residue. Hydroxyethyl urea is an alternative which has been shown to be equally effective.
